New York Governor Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers gave up on the chance of meeting the state’s budget deadline of April 1st. Our political observer Alan Chartock shares his thoughts on a judge, who has ordered New York’s Democratic-controlled Legislature to redraw the state’s congressional and legislative districts after finding them unconstitutional. Also, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is renewing efforts to bring banking services to U.S. Post Office branches.
